I was a manager for 12 years with wal-mart and I was fired for helping out a customer. I helped him out with letting him get a set of tires till his brother wired him money and came in to pay for them. His daughter was in town and her tie rod went out on her car so he had to pay for it then needed to replace the tires. Now remind you rhis is a real regular and I helped him out and he camein and paid the full 570 for the tires with nothing but thanks for us helping him out. Well this was not good enough since all customers do is bleed dollars and change as far as wal-mart is worried about. They dont care for the customer all they see is you need us or where are you going to go. Just look closely at your local wal-mart and see if you dont see the same thing. To bad Sam is not alive to go crazy with what they are doing to his dream, and if his kids were any good they would see it other than 400 billion in sales and how it is eating the world up.

Wal-Mart fired me because they didn't like my perfume. White Diamonds. But they said I am on the the rehire list. So I know the feeling. They only care about the profits and what is good for the company, not the people that work for them or their customers. But what they don't understand  is if they don't have employees they don't have customers and if they don't have customers they don't have a store.

Fired for not liking your perfume? That's wrong! I guess because it wasn't stuff that came off *their* shelves...

just the other day a csm come up and saw i had a water that wasnt the cheapest brand they sell so she told me to put it away and that i cant have that brand of water anymore. umm is someone going to come up to me and say "hey thats not the same cheap crap here so im telling on you!!"

speaking of water. I usually buy Aquafina and for a while I was buying it at walmart. I have noticed lately that they are not carrying it at several locations within a 50 mile drive of my home. But they do have some cheap crap on the shelves that tastes like pond water.

I might get fired. I have been written up once due to "bad attendance" , and was told one more screw up..and that is it, its over.  Here is why I think its wrong. I only have bad attendance because management did not put my new availability for this school semester in the computer when I gave to them. I don't know what happened, turned it in weeks before the semester began, but just now (8 weeks into the semester) they put it in. On week 7, my new availability is showing up. However...I am still being scheduled during times that I am in class! I was written up for absences that I clearly explained were due to school. I had a few call outs from days I was sick/had car problems as well...but that was not the bulk of them. I doubt these idiots would have noticed, seeing as most of my coworkers call out a few times a month. I was late for work the same day they coached me, but they didn't mention that or have it listed on their golden attendance sheet. I wonder if I will get talked to when I come back again on Friday.

If you are repeated problems with whoever is doing the scheduling, go over his head. If Walmart has a policy of scheduling around your school schedule and the scheduler is not abidsing by the policy, then you should lose you job over it, the scheduler should. And although that is unlikely to happen, you should at least go on record with the higher up stuperviser to set the record staright, so when you do get fired and you apply for unemployment benefits, you won't get screwed out of them.

I haven't done that yet, but that is only because during the times I am there, the store manager isn't there. The co-manager really doesn't like me, so I'd prefer not to talk to him. I spoke with a fellow electronics associate, and it turns out he was coached for the exact same reason. He is also a student, and they were messing up his schedule, not only for classes, but also based on public transportation. He literally couldn't stay as late as they wanted, because the buses stopped running, and he lives far from the store, so it counted towards his 'tardys' which you know contributes to your count of absences. He noted that after I got coached, they suddenly fixed my schedule, and after he got coached, they suddenly fixed his schedule too. How interesting. They managed to do it in a week too, contrary to what they told me, it would take 3 weeks (obviously not the case, because it has been since the second week in January that I submitted my change of availability). I am still applying for new jobs, but as I have discovered, when you have worked for Wal-mart, it makes you look bad. I have had friends that just flat out quit, and went to look for a new job. One is now working at Arby's, the other at Fry's. It took them each 4-6 months to even find those jobs though, and they both have good work history, and are students. The economy is bad, and Wal-mart makes you look bad on paper apparently.
